Cat & Dog Boarding Services

Your pet's home away from home.

At Agoura Animal Clinic, we take very seriously the trust you demonstrate in our veterinary clinic by leaving your pet in our care. And while there is "no place like home," it is our sincere purpose to provide a safe, comfortable, and caring environment for your pet while in our care. Clients should feel confident that our boarding procedures are of the highest quality and that your pet is attended to by our trained, experienced hospital staff and veterinarians seven days a week.

Kennel Policies & Procedures:

  • Clean, spacious cages and runs
  • Outdoor leash walks
  • A comfortable atmosphere
  • Fresh bedding and daily housekeeping
  • Individualized care
  • Daily observations
  • Veterinary medical care (if needed)

All dogs and cats are walked or held a minimum of twice per day by staff members to ensure warm and caring human contact. Our boarding facilities are cleaned a minimum of twice a day, including complete sanitization of cages and runs, the offering of fresh food & water, fresh litter boxes if necessary, etc. Pets boarding with us are monitored by staff members who are trained to alert the veterinarians to any potential problems such as poor appetite, weight loss, depression, lethargy, skin irritations, or other abnormal health problems. Additionally, all boarding pets have their daily progress reviewed by a veterinarian each and every day of their boarding stay.

Unless otherwise directed by clients or veterinarians, all boarding pets are fed Hill’s Science/Prescription Diet Food to ensure normal stools and to prevent gastrointestinal problems. Clients are welcome to bring their pet's regular food but are encouraged to allow us to feed the very nutritious and easily digestible Hill’s Science/Prescription Diet product.

Should any pet become ill while boarding, Agoura Animal Clinic reserves the right to treat your pet as authorized by you at their admittance. Boarding can be stressful for some pets and sometimes illnesses develop that were in the process of developing at home. By entrusting the health of your pet to us, we consider treatment our responsibility in your absence. With the emergency contact number that you leave with us at your pet's drop off, we will make every attempt to contact you prior to any major treatment. We will be happy to care for any convalescing pets or pets on medication at an additional minimal charge assessed daily.

For boarding stays longer than two days, Agoura Animal Clinic highly recommends a bath with our unique HydroSurge® Bathing System and a residual cream rinse prior to pickup. Any boarding pet in a confined situation, for even short periods of time, tends to soil faster; thus, you and your pet will be much happier when you take them home after a bath!  When you pick your pet up after their stay, we will be happy to review with you your pet's status during his/her boarding stay. Please keep in mind that pets, like humans, need time to adjust to boarding "vacations" both during and following boarding. If your pet's behavior is abnormal at pickup or when he/she returns home, do not hesitate to discuss this with an Agoura Animal Clinic staff member.
